My name is Abby!
I'm 30 years old, currently residing in NW Montana with my dogs and husband. Proud #DINKWADs (Dual Income, No Kids, With a Dog) who are always up for sporadic adventures. If you are looking for a photographer that shares your carefree, in-the-moment energy and gypsy soul, I'm glad you found me. I can't wait to meet you and yours and make some spectacular memories together! I specialize in curating complete adventures- not just a photoshoot, to your dream destinations for the kind of shots you will want hanging on your walls for years to come.
Down-to-Earth Vibes Only
I just can't do the fake stuff, man. We don't have enough time on this earth to be anything but who we are, so please do not feel any kind of pressure before, during or after your photoshoot. It is not uncommon for me to end up laying on the ground/in the dirt, standing barefoot in a creek, camera in hand, or climbing precarious objects to achieve the perfect shot, which means that, outside of formal events like weddings, you will likely see me in a messy bun, and comfortable clothing I can move freely in during your shoot. I am an honest and inclusive person. My only expectation of my clients is that you show up ready to have fun and follow my lead. My views on life are very much experience focused; When you look at your photos, I want them to transport you back to a moment in time that you are excited to relive.
Dog Lover Extraordinaire
I suppose at this point it's no secret that I’m a dog person. My life revolves around my own dogs and the vibrant world of dog sports. I’m deeply involved in PSA, dock diving, scent work, and various AKC and UKC activities. I also have a rich history as a competitive equestrian. While animal photography is my passion, I also love capturing engagements & proposals, couples photos and elopements.
Outdoor Adventurer
When I’m not behind the lens or editing your photos, you’ll likely find me venturing down new trails, obsessively marking my maps for good fishing holes and camping spots. From 2021 to early 2024, I lived full-time in a 40' travel trailer with my dogs and the sole employee/assistant (to the) regional manager at Blackstone Photography: Dylan. AKA: my wonderful husband. In February 2024, we made the leap from Ogden, UT to Kalispell, MT for my husbands military career. It was here in Montana that we bought our first house together, and sold our first home- the camper. Truly a bittersweet time, but we still make plenty of time for exploring, even if we can't take the whole house with us anymore. In all seriousness, Dylan is the unsung hero of Blackstone Photography. He is always there to haul gear, set up events, or lend unwavering support. Its not uncommon for him to tag along for shoots, helping wrangle animals and model poses are some of the things he does best!
We are both passionate about hiking, camping, mountain biking, and off-roading. I also enjoy fly fishing, anything to do with horses and gardening.
Travel Buff
Living in a travel trailer was a dream come true, perfectly aligning with my love for adventure and constant movement. I've been fortunate enough to take my business to over 30 states, photographing national level events as well as curating custom portrait sessions for private clients, and I'm always ready for international escapades with my passport in hand. Curious if I'll be in your area soon? Check out my travel schedule and let’s plan an epic photo session wherever we can cross paths!
