SPEED DATING: PHOTOGRAPHER EDITION

It's important that you connect with your photographer. After all, you're basically hiring me to be your professional third wheel, dog whisperer and/or hype woman. To help you decide if we'd be a good fit, I've compiled a little "speed dating" list for your convenience.

  • I'm a dog person.

Maybe that was obvious..

90% of my session include canines, equines and felines to some degree. I am deeply involved in the world of dog sports with my own dogs, and I was a competitive equestrian for 15 years before my horse passed away in 2019. I currently compete in PSA, dock diving, scent work, FCATs and various other random activities in both AKC and UKC! My dogs are my whole world, so it makes sense why animal photography is kind of my thing. I do however shoot "normal" sessions for people, such as engagements, small weddings/elopements, family sessions and more, even if you don't have any animals!

  • I like long walks on the beach.

Whether its taking a walk with your best four-legged friend or a steamy sunset session with the love of your life, nobody's mad at the beach!

  • I love a good beverage.

An exotic coffee in the morning or a craft beer in the evening. We can meet up to talk about your vision, or you can bring your favorite bevvy to your shoot and we'll toast to a good time!

  • I live for the outdoors.

When I’m not behind my computer editing photos, you can find me exploring off the beaten path. I live full-time in a 40' travel trailer with my dogs Grimm, Khaalida and Omen, and my wonderful husband Dylan, whom you will likely see at your shoot. I like to say he is the most underpaid employee at Blackstone Photography, as you will often see him helping me hike my heavy gear all over kingdom come, setting up my booth at events, or bringing me food while I am stuck on a trial field all day shooting. He has been employee of the month every month since he joined the team! I couldn't be more proud of him! He is also the only employee at Blackstone Photography, but that's neither here nor there..

When we aren't working or competing/training with our dogs, we enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, mountain biking, off-roading/overlanding in our 4Runners and pretty much anything else that keeps us exploring!

  • Traveling is kind of our thing.

I mean, we do live in a travel trailer.. seems like a given, right?

I travel a lot for my business and most often times Dylan is able to accompany me. We have taken our home to many beautiful places and I have worked in over 30 states taking photos. But what about the rest of the world? Great news, I have a passport and I'm not afraid to use it! Want to know if we'll be in your area? Check out my current travel schedule here!

  • We keep it casual and real around here.

I just can't do the fake stuff, man. We don't have enough time on this earth to be anything but who we are, so please do not feel any kind of pressure at your photoshoot. Unless I am photographing a formal event like a wedding, you will likely see me in a messy bun, and comfortable clothing I can move freely in. I am an honest and inclusive person. My only expectation of my clients is that you show up ready to have fun and follow my lead. My view on life is very much experience focused and I want you to enjoy your experience with me as well as walk away with some fabulous photos.

SO FAR SO GOOD?

Sweet! Then let's get to the good stuff!

Even if you're not completely sure on what you want from your experience, I'd love to hear from you. I believe that cultivating genuine relationships with people is what leads to the most authentic and beautiful photos. And hey, even if we aren't the right fit, I'd love to help you get to the resources you need. It's a big world out there and finding a place to start can be overwhelming. No matter where you're at in your process, I'm here to help! Click here to fill out my contact form with some easy details and I'll get back to you within 72 hours. I can't wait to meet you and hear your story!
